Summer Garden Workshop

Join Farmscape for a summer maintenance workshop, and learn various ways to trellis and support your growing plants. Best practices in pruning and tool sterilization will be demonstrated through hands-on activities. Common gardening questions, such as sustainable watering techniques during hot weather, seasonal garden pests and what to do about them, and getting a large harvest out of your crops will be discussed as a group. Ashley Bowden, lead farmer and horticultural therapist, will be taking our group through how to make time for these crucial maintenance tasks while still enjoying your garden space.

Topics will include

• Plant support: Stakes, trellising, twine
• Tool cleaning: Why and how we sterilize our pruning tools
• Watering in hot weather: Containers, raised beds, and in-ground
• Best practices for working outdoors during warmer months
